Presidency of the Council:
Bulgaria will hold the revolving presidency of the Council of the EU for the first time in 2018.
Located in the southeast part of the Balkans, Bulgaria has a diverse topography. The north of the country is dominated by the vast lowlands of the Danube Plain with the river Danube defining the border with neighbouring Romania. The south of the country, by contrast, is dominated by highlands and elevated plains while, in the east, the Black Sea coast attracts tourists all year round.
The most important sectors of Bulgaria’s economy in 2015 were industry (23.0 %), wholesale and retail trade, transport, accommodation and food services (21.0 %) and public administration, defence, education, human health and social work activities (14.5 %).
Bulgaria’s main export partners are Germany, Italy and Turkey, while its main import partners are Germany, Russia and Italy.
PROGRAM
-Day 0 (May 7, Saturday): Departure from Spain, and arrival in Sofia´s hotel .
-Day 1 (May 8, Sunday): We used our time in Sofia to got to know the city. We visited: the St Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the Sveta Nedelya Cathedral, St Nicolas Church, St George Church, and St Sofia Church. Sadly we didn´t get to enter the Banya Bashi Mosque, nor the Ivan Vazov National Theater. We also went shopping and saw some ruins on the way. Later, we met the Polish and French students, and picked un the German ones (the teachers as well, of course). The trip to Hadjidimovo lasted for about 3 hours. After we arrived the town, students met their partners and went to their homes, while teachers stayed in the Katerina Hotel.

-Day 2 (May 9, Monday): We got up early in the morning to go to school, where we saw everyone involved with the project. A while after, we had a break, and prepared our migration works. Later, all countries had lunch at the Katerina hotel, then we atended a performance for Europe day. Students went home, while teachers went to their hotel.
-Day 3 (May 10, Tuesday): We got up as early as the day before to go to school. We prepared our migration flows card, and presented it, then we had a break. After that, we met the mayor (there was food in the town´s hall, and the mayor gave us a bag with a present). Later on, students made a chart of human rights, while teachers had a workshop for Project coordinators, then we all had another break and prepared a questionnaire for human rights. Students went home, while teachers had a dinner in villa Ray.
-Day 4 (May 11, Wednesday): We got up as early as the day before to go to school. That morning, right after we arrived at school, we took a bus to go to the town of Menlik, where we visited the Kordopulova house, the Pashova house, a winery, the Rozhen Monastery, the Roupite, and went shopping. After all that, we came back home.
-Day 5 (May 12, Thursday): We got up as early as the day before to go to school. Students participated in a workshop which consisted on painting bottles, jars, etc, while teachers attended a lesson about European citizenship by students. We had a break, then they did make us a quiz about European naturalization. Then we went to the hotel Katerina to have lunch with the other countries. Later, we travelled to the town of Gotse Delchev, where we saw a museum that had once been a house, the town itself, and went shopping on our own.
Day 6 (May 13, Friday): We got up as early as the day before to go to school. We watched a movie about human rights at school, and discussed about it. Later, we had a break, and attended a sports tournament. After the tournament, we had lunch at hotel Katerina, then, while students finished their works, teachers attended a meeting for Project coordinators. We participated in more activities, and later we got some free time to prepare ourselves for the gala dinner in the hotel Katerina that happened this night.
-Day 7 (May 14, Saturday): We said goodbye to everyone and went to the airport with the German students and teachers. Some hours after, we arrived to Spain.

Situada en el sudeste de los Balcanes, Bulgaria tiene una topografía muy diversa. El norte está dominado por las amplias tierras bajas de la llanura del Danubio, río que marca la frontera con Rumanía. El sur del país, por el contrario, está dominado por montañas y planicies elevadas mientras que, al este, la costa del mar Negro atrae turistas durante todo el año.
Los sectores más importantes de la economía búlgara en 2015 eran la industria (23,0 %), el comercio mayorista y minorista, el transporte y la hostelería (21,0 %), y la administración pública, la defensa, la educación, la salud y los servicios sociales (14,5 %).
Sus principales socios de exportación son Alemania, Italia y Turquía, mientras que sus principales socios de importación son Alemania, Rusia e Italia.
